THE YPG HOLIDAY PARTY IS FINALLY HERE!

This event will be an exclusive "only show up if you get an invitation" party that we would love for all young planners to register for and perhaps attend.

Why is this event exclusive? Well, for a variety of reasons including Ord. No. 164,035, Eff. 11/11/2010 that limits the amount of awesome individuals at any one structure at any one time. As well as the fact that we have a venue with limited space. Attendees will be selected on a first register first serve basis.

Even though most Holidays don't occur until the latter end of December, YPG wants to help all the young planners in the Los Angeles Region kick it off right. The event will be free but we will ask you to bring some sort of refreshment for the guests. So Join YPG-LA to celebrate the most timely of holiday traditions, "The Ugly Sweater Party"

When: 7:00pm Friday, December 3
Where: Downtown LA (Exact location will be found in the formal invitation if you're selected to come)

Please fill out the following form and we will notify you if you're selected by Nov. 31. RSVP here: http://tinyurl.com/YPGHoliday

The YPG Mentorship Series November

The APA LA Young Planners Group Mentorship Series is a six-month series of intimate gatherings between new planners and some of LA's most experienced, progressive planning professionals. These events will provide attendees an opportunity to ask questions, gain helpful advice, and learn from the experiences of these amazing mentors.

We would like to thank our October mentor, Karen Warner, AICP, Principal, Karen Warner Associates, Inc. and all who attended and made it a memorable event!

Our November mentor will be Veronica Hahni, Executive Director of Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative, an innovative program designed to jump-start neighborhood revitalization in economically challenged neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles. As Executive Director, Ms. Hahni guides the organization’s long-term strategic vision while overseeing community engagement, design and construction phases for a variety of physical improvement projects in culturally and historically significant Los Angeles communities. Ms. Hahni earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from California State University, Los Angeles and a Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California ('94).

When: Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 6:30 P.M. (formal discussion at 7 P.M)
Where: Nick and Stef Steakhouse 330 S. Hope St. Los Angeles, CA 90071

We will be capping each mentorship event at 15 people to facilitate conversation with our mentors. In order to RSVP, you will need to go to http://tinyurl.com/DecMentor and fill out the YPG Mentorship Series Form. After completing this form, you will receive an email informing you whether or not you have been selected within 1-2 weeks. If we have reached our capacity for this event, we will contact you for your availability to attend future mentorship events or in case of any cancellations.
